some beautiful moving.

hey everyone,

I have a feeling this is going to be one of many posts i put on here with some movement stuff that inspires me. this is a solo from pina bausch's "vollmond" by dominique mercy. all of her pieces were developed collaboratively with the dancers. in class, i find myself finding deep relations to my own emotional/physical/visceral impulses as i move. outside of knowing that pina bausch's pieces are developed collaboratively through personal stories from the dancers, their impulses, etc., i think this is a great example of how working in our way can be made into amazing, understated, beautiful work.

bless bless,

sam

who is that bloodied man?

I saw this performed in Scotland in 07 and was blown away.

Welcome to the New Wave

Hi All, Stacy here.
Let's start this thing up right.

Please join this blog so that you may become my co-authors!

A first offering: here is a short audio visual piece from Steve Paxton, the founder of contact improvisation, luminary of the Judson Church post-modern dance movement, and philosopher/theorist on issues of physical presence in current times. Please listen with your whole self: he speaks in a way that moves beyond the rational plane of isolated intellect....
